It’s been said that “Some things just get better with age,” and such is the case with O’Neil Software and their continuous technology upgrades. No sooner did they release their RS-SQL Version 4.03, they’ve now announced yet another, with more new cool features – RS-SQL Version 4.04.
“Technology is an extremely important element of business. Not only does it provide multiple ways of communicating with customers and enhancing service, it automates many of the processes involved in running a business,” notes Ian Thomas, Executive VP of O’Neil Software. “With the application of technology, critical and time-consuming processes can be executed with ease and in less time. It reduces the work burden and delivers speed, audit and accuracy improvements.”
RS-SQL Interface Highlights
More Freedom! RSMobile® Processing Now Available As A Windows® Service, Ensuring That Processing Takes Place Continuously, Whether You Are Logged In Or Not. Currently, processing had to be initiated at a workstation. Instead, you can install the new RSMobile Processing Service during the installation of RS-SQL on one computer or server in your network environment and allow processing to run continuously in the background. This service is configured to automatically start up, so anytime your server is rebooted, the RSMobile Processing Service will start up without any user intervention.
Once installed, you can view the RSMobile Processing Service from the services console on your computer or server. Here you can also stop, or restart the service if necessary, as well as confirm that the service is set to auto-start. As with many new features of their software, new user function access options are introduced which allow you to determine which users can temporarily pause the RSMobile Processing Service , as well as which users can reset the processing tallies that are visible in the new RSMobile Processing Monitor.
In addition to this service, there is a new tray application that monitors RSMobile processing status and counts. This service and tray application can be installed along with all the other RS-SQL features.
Greater Visibility! RSMobile Processing Monitor Option Enables You To View the Status Of Processing And Counts, From Any Computer In Your Network That Has It Installed. Once installed, you can launch the monitor on your computer; see the current status of processing; and determine whether you are using the new RSMobile Processing Service or the traditional method. Even if you choose not to use the RSMobile Processing Service, you can still install and use the RSMobile Processing Monitor, to ensure that processing is being completed. The RSMobile Processing Monitor will also provide you with a tally of activity that has been processed. Any container, file folder, or tape activity counts will be visible here, in addition to a tally of the exceptions that have been recorded. At the bottom of the RSMobile Processing Monitor, you’re also able to see when the tallies began accumulating. Anytime that the RSMobile Processing Count is reset by a user with appropriate function access, the date and time stamp will be updated and the tallies will restart at zero.
A Faster, Easier Method To Show Customers Proper Distribution Of Costs! A Sub-Account Invoice Report Breaks Down Charges On An Invoice To The Sub-Account Level. Ever had a customer that wants to receive a single invoice for all of their departments, but then expects you to provide a detailed breakdown of the invoice by each department?
The new Sub-Account Invoice Report is designed to do just this – break down the charges on the invoice to the sub-account level. Using RS-SQL Reporting Services, the system will gather the sub-account invoice detail that was generated during the invoice creation, or reprint process and present you with a nicely formatted pdf report. This report also includes a summary of the sub-account costs; a detailed section for each sub-account; and shows how the charges were calculated and distributed. Invoices will print as usual; however, sub-account invoice detail information will also be generated.
Clearer Information! New Storage Detail Report Quickly Shows Customers And Your Staff How This Amount Is Calculated. In the past, it was sometimes difficult to identify how new storage was calculated. However, with the New Storage Detail Report, you can quickly get a breakdown of the items that are being billed for new storage.
You’ll see information for each object code including the add date; description; unit volume; quantity; unit volume quantity; the number of days the object was in storage, as well as prorated quantities and volumes. The New Storage Detail Report quickly shows you how the new storage calculations on your invoice were made and can be extremely helpful in answering customer questions with regard to your invoicing.
