Powdersville Self Storage Sponsors Free Community Meals

Powdersville Self Storage recently announced that they have partnered with Landscaper Supply Company to sponsor a community outreach called Free Community Supper. Free Community Supper is a free community meal served at Powdersville First Baptist Church on the last Tuesday of every month.

The idea for the community meal program came from Powdersville First Baptist Church members, Kelly and Brad Holder. Kelly Holder, who cooks the meals with the help of volunteer church members, teaches Culinary Arts at the B.J. Skelton Career Center in Pickens County. Previously meals have featured spaghetti, lasagna and chicken alfredo.

“The community meal ministry began last year and has been a great success, thanks to local partnerships,” said Pastor Brad Atkins. “The purpose is for kids to learn about God after school but it is available to anyone who would like to come.”

The community meals are sponsored by Powdersville Self Storage, who sponsored meals last year, and a new sponsor, Landscaper Supply of Easley, formerly Tri-County Equipment and Rental. “We look for every opportunity to bring people to the Lord,” said Sophrona Chapman of Powdersville Self Storage.

The free meals are also helping single mothers who are members of the FREE Community Supper and assist Romanian children who are sponsored by Powdersville First Baptist Church, Landscaper Supply and Powdersville Self Storage. The free community meal is served in the Social Hall at First Baptist Church in Powdersville from 6:00 until 7:30 p.m. on the last Tuesday of every month.
